Twelve students from Eastern Connecticut State University presented their research and creative activity at the Northeast Regional Research Conference of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC) on Oct. 21-22. Hosted by the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), eight colleges in the COPLAC consortium participated in the undergraduate conference.

Earlier in the Spring semester the Music Program at Eastern Connecticut State University presented the first concert held in Eastern's new state-of-the art Fine Arts Instructional Center (FAIC). The historical concert, comprised of Eastern students, faculty, staff and local community members, was one of the first to combine nearly every vocal and instrumental ensemble, making it a truly collaborative performance.
During the summer of 2014, 11 students from Eastern Connecticut State University spent the month of July in Florence, Italy, at an intensive creative writing workshop. With its rich culture and scenic Tuscan views, Florence was chosen as the location for the workshop to inspire students' creative and literary senses as they wrote, critiqued and edited original works of fiction and poetry.
308 first-year students have been awarded an Enrichment Scholarship this year.
